WHY DO CHILDREN SUCK THEIR THUMB

HELP YOUR CHILD BREAK THE HABIT
Thumb sucking is a common habit among babies. At some point, though, you might think, "Enough is ." Here's help encouraging your child to cease the behavior.

WHY CHILDREN SUCK THEIR THUMB
Babies have natural rooting & sucking reflexes, which may cause them to put their thumbs or fingers in to their mouths sometimes even before birth.

Because thumb sucking is soothing to kids, some might finally create a habit of thumb sucking when they are bored, worn out or anxious.

Lots of kids who suck their thumbs or fingers do so while holding a treasured object, such as a security blanket.

HOW MUCH CHILDREN SUCK THUMB?
Keep in mind, though, even a kid who is stopped sucking his or her thumb might revert to the behavior when they or they is stressed or anxious.

Many children cease sucking their thumbs on their own sometime in the work of the child years between ages two & four. For older children who continue to suck their thumbs, peer pressure at school usually ends the habit.
